This privacy notice will inform\nyou as to how we look after your personal data we collect from you both when\nyou visit our website and where we carry out services for you. This privacy\nnotice tells you about your privacy rights and how the Data Protection Law protects\nyou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPersonal Data\u201d means any information\nrelating to an identified or identifiable natural person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.&nbsp;LGCA &#8211; Who we are<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The London Governance and Compliance\nAcademy (LGCA) is a leading provider of premium courses, learning solutions\nwith a strong emphasis on the financial and professional services sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the Controller, the LGCA determines the\npurpose and means of processing individuals\u2019 personal data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Personal data that we may collect:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA processes different personal data\nfor different reasons. These may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal data for contact, service\nprovision and other purposes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These may include, name, position, participant\u2019s\ntelephone number, details of person authorising attendance (e.g. employer of\nthe participant in a seminar), academic and professional qualifications, date\nof birth, professional membership number, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Information necessary to make payments:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This may include bank account details and\nother relevant details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Compliance with statutory obligation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA may process personal data where\nobliged to do so under the law (e.g. employment records, company records, tax\nreporting obligations, AML Laws).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Information collected during the\nregistration for an event or conference organised by the LGCA:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LGCA may organise different kind of events or conferences either for\npromoting and marketing its services to existing and potential clients, for\nnetworking purposes or for finding potential participants for the different\ncourses\/seminars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this respect, the LGCA may process personal data (e.g. name,\nsurname, contact details and if relevant details in regard to academic and\/or\nprofessional qualifications (including, but not limited to, name of University,\nsubject of study, year of study) for efficient organisation and management of an\nevent or conference. This information may be used for future contact, only with\nyour consent, in order to market the Entity\u2019s services to you or in order to\ninform you for similar events. This information will be held by the LGCA until\nyou choose to unsubscribe\/withdraw your consent, in accordance with article\n7(3) of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation EU 2016\/679).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Photographs\/pictures, presentations, audio and video recording of\nspeakers and participants and live web streaming of the events or conferences\nmay be taken. They may be reproduced in various media including the LGCA\u2019s publications,\nthe LGCA website, social networks, TV channels and the press, in connection\nwith the event or conference as well as for promotional activities of the LGCA.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish that your image or voice is not recorded and published, for\ncompelling and legitimate grounds relating to your particular situation, please\nfollow the procedure described below at paragraph 11 for making a request. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We do not collect any <strong>Special Categories\nof Personal Data<\/strong> about you (this includes details about your race or\nethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation,\npolitical opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and\ngenetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal\nconvictions and offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Time of collection of personal data<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personal data may be collected by the LGCA\nwhere you or an organisation with which you are related in any capacity (e.g.\nemployee, officer, representative) (the \u201c<strong>Client\nEntity<\/strong>\u201d) contact the LGCA in relation to any services that it may provide. Your\npersonal data may also come to our possession in case you express any interest\nto and\/or become an employee of the LGCA. Your personal data may also be\ncollected through our website when you express an interest for the services of\nthe LGCA. Your personal\ndata may also be processed if you sign up to participate in an event or\nconference organised by the LGCA. Your data may also be collected when\nan organisation engages the LGCA to provide services and you are engaged in the\norganisation in any capacity that is relevant (for example, director,\nrepresentative, employee of such entity with which the LGCA deals in providing\nany services.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Use of your personal data:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA will process personal data to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Provide its services or enter into discussions for the\n     provision of services to you or a Client Entity;<\/li><li>Manage the day-to-day tasks relating to the business\n     relationship with you or a Client Entity (e.g. communication, payments,\n     invoicing, support);<\/li><li>Analyse, market and improve its services as well as develop new\n     services that may be of interest to you or a Client Entity;<\/li><li>For physical security and IT security purposes;<\/li><li>For insurance coverage purposes;<\/li><li>In compliance with its legal obligations including accounting\n     and tax;<\/li><li>To be able to identify the individuals acting for a Client\n     Entity or engaged by a Client Entity in a task which requires that the LGCA\n     communicates with such individuals;<\/li><li>To defend or uphold its legal rights;<\/li><li>To comply with any order of a responsible court or other\n     authority;<\/li><li>In relation to any services that may be offered to the LGCA by\n     any person or other entity including for example legal services, tax\n     services, public services;<\/li><li>For research purposes regarding the effectiveness of website\n     services, marketing, advertising and sales efforts;<\/li><li>To keep you or a Client Entity informed in relation to its\n     services and products;<\/li><li>For direct marketing purposes in promoting the LGCA legitimate\n     interest. In such a case you may opt-out of direct marketing as provided\n     further below.<\/li><li>For recruitment, employment, payroll and other related purposes\n     of the LGCA;<\/li><li>For organising\n     an event or conference and providing relevant information to participants.<\/li><li>For purposes that are similar or connected to the above or for\n     any other purpose that you or a Client Entity will provide personal data\n     to us.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Legal ground for personal data\nprocessing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA may process the personal data set\nout above on one or more of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You have provided your consent to the LGCA for the specific\n     purpose of processing;<\/li><li>The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract\n     to which you or a Client Entity are party or in order to take steps at\n     your or a Client Entity \u2018s request prior to entering into a contract with\n     the LGCA ;<\/li><li>processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation\n     to which the LGCA as the controller is subject;<\/li><li>processing is necessary in order to protect the vital interests\n     of you or of another natural person;<\/li><li>processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate\n     interests pursued by the LGCA as the controller or by a third party,\n     except where such interests are overridden by your interests or\n     fundamental rights and freedoms which require protection of personal data,\n     in particular where the data subject is a child. Examples where the LGCA may\n     process personal data on this ground, include product development,\n     communications and marketing, insurance purposes, employment and\n     recruitment purposes, IT purposes (e.g. data loss prevention, information,\n     system, network and cyber-security, employment data processing, general\n     operations and due diligence (e.g. internal customer analysis, reporting\n     and management information).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. Provision of your personal data to\nthird parties<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The LGCA may share information in the context of providing its\n     services to you or any Client Entity with other third parties including\n     for example, trainers at our courses, payment processors, database service\n     providers, other specialist service providers where instructed by you or a\n     Client Entity to do so, its own legal and\/or other advisors, other service\n     providers (e.g. online storage centers, cloud service providers and\n     statistics monitoring). <\/li><li>The LGCA may also share your information where obliged to do so\n     by an applicable court order and\/or where required to do so by an\n     applicable law.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7. The safety of your personal data<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA takes the appropriate measures (physical,\norganisational and technical) to ensure the safety of your personal data. Your\npersonal data may be stored electronically or in paper form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8. Personal data that you or a Client\nEntity provide to us in relation to other individuals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where you or a Client Entity provides to the\nLGCA personal data of other individuals (e.g. officers, secretary, employees,\nother individuals that the Client Entity interacts with or persons related to\nyou) you or the Client Entity (as the case may be) represent to the LGCA that\nyou or the Client Entity are duly entitled to do this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You or a Client Entity also represent and\nthat the individual in question is aware of the LGCA\u2019s data protection\npractices as stated in this policy which may be relevant to the individual, how\nthe LGCA may be contacted as well as such information that you or a Client\nEntity are obliged to provide to such individual under applicable laws in\nrelation to the LGCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9. How long we keep your personal data\nfor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA stores personal data for no longer\nthan is reasonably necessary for its processing purposes. Where LGCA stores\npersonal data based on your consent, it will delete such personal data when you\nwithdraw your consent and provided that it is not obliged under law to maintain\nsuch data. In case of recruitment activities, the LGCA will delete your\npersonal data if you are not employed unless you expressly consent for to the\nstoring of your personal data for potential future roles and\/or other purposes.\nIf you accept an offer of employment by the LGCA, any relevant personal data\ncollected during your pre-employment period will become part of your personnel\nrecords and will be retained. The LGCA may in any case, keep personal data as\nlong as is necessary for the defending or making of legal claims as provided by\napplicable limitation laws in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10. Transfers of personal data to third\ncountries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA may transfer personal data to\nthird countries outside the EU\/EEA where required for any of the purposes\nstated above including for storage purposes. In each such case, the LGCA will\nensure that such transfers will comply with the General Data Protection\nRegulation (Regulation EU 2016\/679) based on a Commission Adequacy decision, or\nappropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) or other grounds\nprovided by the GDPR. You may contact the LGCA in order to be informed of the\nappropriate or suitable safeguards (as the case may be).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11. Your rights as a data subject<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Right of access \u2013 you have the right to request from us, the LGCA,\n     acting as your controller, to provide you with a copy of the personal data\n     that we hold about you in which case we shall do so.<\/li><li>Right of rectification \u2013 you have a right to request from the\n     LGCA acting as your controller to correct the personal data that it holds\n     about you that is inaccurate or incomplete in which case the LGCA acting\n     as your controller shall do so.<\/li><li>Right to be forgotten \u2013 you have a right to request from the\n     LGCA acting as your controller in certain circumstances to erase your\n     personal data from its records. In case that these circumstances apply to\n     your case and provided that no exception to this obligation applies (e.g.\n     where we are obliged to store your personal data in compliance with a\n     legal obligation under the UK or EU law), the LGCA acting as your\n     controller will erase your personal data from its records.<\/li><li>Right to restriction of processing \u2013 you have a right to\n     request from the LGCA acting as your controller where certain conditions\n     apply, to restrict the processing of your personal data. Where these\n     conditions apply the LGCA will restrict the processing of your personal\n     data.<\/li><li>Right of portability \u2013 you have the right to request from the LGCA\n     acting as your controller where certain conditions apply, to have the data\n     it holds about you transferred to another organisation. Where these\n     conditions apply the LGCA will transfer your personal data to another\n     organisation.<\/li><li>Right to object \u2013 you have the right to object on grounds\n     relating to your particular situation, to certain types of processing such\n     as direct marketing.<\/li><li>Right to object to automated processing, including profiling \u2013\n     you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated\n     processing or profiling.<\/li><li>Right to judicial review: in the event that the LGCA refuses\n     your request for any rights of access, it will provide you with a reason\n     as to why.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can make a request or exercise these\nrights by sending an e-mail to the following e-mail address: data@lgca.uk <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We may request you to provide us\ninformation for the purpose of verifying your identity and residency in order\nfor us to comply with our security obligations and to prevent unauthorised\ndisclosure of data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will answer your request, or request\nadditional information from you within 1 (one) month. Occasionally, it may take\nus longer than 1 (one) month if your request is particularly complex or you\nhave made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you within 1 (one)\nmonth of the receipt of your request about the extension and keep you updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA may charge you a reasonable fee\nwhen a request is manifestly unfounded, excessive or repetitive, or we receive\na request to provide further copies of the same data. In this case we will send\nyou a fee request which you will have to accept prior to us processing your\nrequest. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these\ncircumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12. Failure to provide personal\ninformation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the LGCA requests you to provide to it\npersonal data and you fail to do so the LGCA may not be in a position to\nprovide a service and\/or enter into an agreement with you, in which case it\nwill inform you accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>13. Your right to make a complaint<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA will endeavour to promptly respond\nto your requests and complaints. In the event that you are unsatisfied, with\nthe way we have handled your personal data or any privacy query or request that\nyou have raised with us, you may submit a complaint to the LGCA in writing at\nthe following email address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>data@lgca.uk <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will try to respond to all requests\nwithin 1 (one) month. Occasionally, it may take us longer than 1 (one) month if\nyour request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In\nthis case, we will notify you within 1 (one) month of the receipt of your\nrequest and keep you updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are not satisfied with our response\nto your complaint, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information\nCommissioner\u2019s Office (ICO). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14. Cookies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LGCA uses cookies in order to deliver a\nbetter user experience on its websites. Changes to this Privacy Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Privacy Policy is subject to change to\nreflect a change in the data protection practices or legal framework.
