{"id":4893,"date":"2020-04-14T06:52:38","date_gmt":"2020-04-14T06:52:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lgca.uk\/?p=4893"},"modified":"2021-06-18T15:38:25","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T15:38:25","slug":"e-learning-the-leap-to-mainstream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lgca.uk\/el\/e-learning-the-leap-to-mainstream\/","title":{"rendered":"E-Learning: the Leap to Mainstream"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the development and availability of technology, the proliferation of online learning has become pervasive.\u00a0 Many organisations have embraced eLearning which has been particularly attractive and successful with the younger generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet\nwhile it has gained prominence and preference for some, face to face learning\nhas remained the optimal choice for most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until\nnow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ncurrent pandemic has obliterated the choice of live interaction and face to\nface tuition overnight making online education mainstream and driving eLearning\nplatform providers to the frontline.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Undoubtfully,\neLearning has immense advantages, such as: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Affordability<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Online\nlearning does not involve any travel or subsistence expenses. Moreover, tuition\nfees for online courses are generally lower than their face to face counterparts.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Flexibility<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nability to learn when and where one chooses appeals to all of us, but\nparticularly resonates with the younger generations who covet such\nfreedom.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Accessibility to subject\nmatter experts<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Online\nseminars often are delivered (pre-recorded or live) by world renowned experts,\ngiving learners the opportunity to experience and be taught by specialists who\nare difficult to access. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Interactive and\nengaging learning <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Online\nplatforms use the latest Artificial Intelligence, gamification, analytics and\nother tech wizardry to engage and ensure a stimulating and dynamic experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But\ndo not think all online learning providers are the same.&nbsp; eLearning platforms differ based on (1) seamless\nuser experience, namely the ease of booking, paying and using the platform\nwhich shapes the learners\u2019 experience, (2) bespoke, tailored and practical courses\nthat the learner actually needs, (3) a personal experience which mirrors face\nto face learning, and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Studying\nonline may be informative but often an isolating and unproductive\nexperience.&nbsp; If Online education\nproviders &#8211; especially of executive education \u2013 should provide a facility to\nhelp learners interact with each other as well as the trainers to ask questions\nand share best practice experience.&nbsp; This\nwill build a community of learners, helping learners to connect and have a more\neffective and productive experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online\nlearning providers must differentiate themselves to provide not only affordable\nand flexible courses but also a positive, personal and long-term learning. <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the development and availability of technology, the proliferation of online learning has become pervasive.\u00a0 Many organisations have embraced eLearning which has been particularly attractive and successful with the younger generations.
