Financial Crime Expert Martin Schofield Partners up with LGCA

Besides his role as Complyport’s Director of Financial Crime and Forensics, Martin will assist LGCA with content creation and course delivery.

LONDON, United Kingdom – The London Governance and Compliance Academy (LGCA) is excited to announce that Complyport’s Director of Financial Crime and Forensics, Martin Schofield, has joined its ranks to assist with content creation and the delivery of courses on financial crime prevention and associated topics.

Martin, who has more than twenty years of experience in financial crime prevention, is highly regarded in the industry as a consultant, adviser, and trainer on all-things financial crime prevention.

He has worked on both global and domestic projects for major financial services firms, training staff from the front office to the board room on topics such as fraud and money laundering prevention, sanctions, bribery, and data protection to name but a few.

Stavros Fatta, LGCA’s Director, said: “We truly look forward to working with Martin on the development and delivery of courses on anti-money laundering, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, market abuse, vulnerable clients, and a whole range of other important subjects. Martin’s experience in financial crime and knowledge of the ins and outs of this industry will become invaluable resources to both our organisation and our global clients.”

Besides his ample experience in a didactic role, Martin has also held the title of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for several large multinational companies and acted as lead investigator in countless internal and external investigations, involving mortgage fraud, application fraud, identity fraud and money laundering.

Speaking about this partnership, Martin said: “I am delighted and honoured to have joined the ranks of the expert trainers at LGCA. I truly believe that undertaken appropriately and professionally, training is one of the key controls any firm can employ to help mitigate their exposures and risks of financial crime. Training is an invaluable way in which to share new or updated knowledge or bring about a change in process or behaviour.”

New and improved courses on topics pertaining to financial crime prevention are expected to be rolled out in early 2022.
