LGCA & Etikamente GEC Launch Governance, Risk & Compliance Training Academy

Professionals in the Caribbean and Central America can now get certified by AGRC.

LONDON, United Kingdom and SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic – The London Governance and Compliance Academy (LGCA) and Etikamente GEC, a consulting and training firm in the Dominican Republic, have joined forces to launch an online training academy in governance, risk and compliance (GRC) issues for the Caribbean and Central America.

This joint effort aims to bring to the region internationally recognised certifications in GRC issues, ones that will, firstly, equip upstart professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively make a move into the world of compliance and, secondly, provide solid and comprehensive refreshers for the more seasoned experts.

The roster of self-paced, online courses includes the International Governance & Compliance Association’s (AGRC) certifications in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Compliance, as well as introductory workshops on GDPR, international economic sanctions, insider dealing, market manipulation and payment card industry security awareness, among others.

Stavros Fatta, LGCA’s CEO, said: “We’re excited to kick off this venture and make these programs, certifications and courses available to GRC professionals in the Dominican Republic and Central America. As AGRC’s official training partner, we believe this move will open Latin America’s doors to the association’s certifications and provide a robust foundation for creating a network of GRC professionals in the region.”

Besides the current selection of courses, the joint academy also plans on delivering additional AGRC certifications in International Economic Sanctions, ESG, Corporate Governance and Risk Management in 2022, rounding out what would be a comprehensive list of GRC training offerings for today’s professional.

Claudia Alvarez-Troncoso, Etikamente’s Managing Partner, said: “Etikamente GEC is always on the search for educational alternatives for our clients and extended network that are innovative and internationally recognized. We believe AGRC and LGCA fulfill both of these expectations.”
